Etsy.com

I don't know if you all have heard of etsy.com but it is a really fun website. It is pronounced "it-see". Crafters from all over can have an online store to sell their goods. They have EVERYTHING you can think of.

I bought a Twilight necklace and a big, pink tutu for Kenna's first birthday. Really, I have spent a long time looking through all of the items available, and I came across a really cute idea. I send my kids to school with lunch and I really don't like to use a lot of plastic baggies. On Etsy I found reusable snack bags.

Click HERE to see all the fun ideas. I sew and these wouldn't take long to make and wouldn't use a lot of fabric. I just need to find the vinyl that they use on the inside. When I have some free time I might try these. I really like the cracker jack wrapper idea. I made Payton a purse out of Capri Sun wrappers a couple of years ago. We were on vacation and saw them for $30 and I laughed because I knew how much that probably cost to make. I had the kids drink capri suns for a week and then drained and rinsed the pouches and stitched them together. It was fun and easy.

I thought that the snack bags could really save some money. I like the idea of not using plastic too. My kids use plastic sandwich boxes and I love the sandwich wraps also.

  1. That's funny. Just yesterday I asked my kids to ask their friends for their leftover Capri Sun packages so I could make purses/bags etc. Wow, great minds think alike on the recycling front!!
